The 1st Step To Your Next Goal

Last week marked the halfway point of 2023. 🤯

Maybe you're in a good place. Maybe you realized you need to step it up to reach your goals.

If you're reevaluating or recommitting to your goals, first you need to get honest with yourself about where you are.

This is a step many people skip, jumping right into a new workout program or diet plan without really looking at what they're already doing, but it's the first thing I do with my clients.

Whether I'm working with someone new or helping someone plan for a different goal, it's important to take stock of what they're already doing, what they're struggling with, and why.

It's normal to want a fresh start and a radical lifestyle change, but it's also setting yourself up for failure if you have ambitious goals but no routine or habits to support them.

For example, if you want to start an early morning workout routine but you're typically at work or at kids' activities until late in the evening, it's going to be really tough to hop right out of bed in the morning.

If you want to start eating healthier but you're not sure what to buy at the grocery store, and then when you get it home, you have no idea what to do with it, that food is likely going to waste.

As humans, we often have great intentions, but in order to turn those intentions into actions, we have to set ourselves up for success by creating a structure or schedule that makes it easier to take action.

That's why the first step to getting the results you want is figuring out why you don't already have them.

What is it about your current lifestyle that's preventing you from achieving your goals? What would need to happen for you to start making changes? Get specific!
